Happy New Year!

Okay, so this post is a day late, but I spent most of yesterday playing Hyrule Warriors and feeling like I was going to die. (It was a very bad day.) Anyways, since it's a new year, that means there are new things to discuss! Mainly, What do I want to do with myself this year?

  1. Concentrate on my GPA. At the end of last semester, I was left with a pitiful 3.766 GPA. (I had a really hard time in two classes this semester, and I got Bs in those.) This semester, and on every other semester in my future, I'm going to really focus on bringing that GPA up to at least a 3.85, if not a 3.90. I know it's going to be really difficult to do that, but I'm hoping that if I get all As my next three semesters, I'll graduate with as close to a 4.00 as I can. (I had a 4.00 my freshman year, but my sophomore year classes were some of the hardest I've ever had to take.)
  2. Devotionals. When I graduated high school, my pastor gave me (as well as all the other graduates) a book entitled "My Utmost for His Highest." It's a devotional of sorts that you read once a day - it has every day of the year in it, one reading a day. I've never had a strict reading plan, so this year I'm really going to try. I got a few journals for Christmas that I'm going to use to write in every day. (I also bought an Apologetics bible on Christmas Eve as sort of a let's-do-this to myself.)
  3. WRITE. I've been absolutely terrible at writing lately, and I really need to get myself back into it. I know it's going to be hard, mostly because of the previous two resolutions, but this book is never going to get finished if I don't do something with it. I even tried writing a death scene for one of my favorite characters, but I'm not sure if I'll kill him off yet or not.
  4. Money. I haven't been very good at saving money this year. I did the "dollar a week" jar, and ended up with $595 at the end of the year (I was supposed to have $1396, but due to my hours being cut at TreeTop, I didn't make it past August). I spent nearly $300 of that on Christmas, so I was left with $120 to give to the church and $125 to put into savings. I haven't put anything into my savings account since the summer, and I really  need to get it big before the end of the year. My goal is to put $1,000 in my savings by the end of the year. Since I get paid twice a month, I figure I take out $50 immediately and transfer it to my savings account. Shouldn't be too difficult, I wouldn't think. I'm also going to try the money-jar thing again (and actually finish it this year!!)
So, there you have it. The things I'm going to be working towards in 2015. I mean, this is the year of Back to the Future II's hoverboards and flying cars! Anything should be possible!

Here's to a great year, a year of laughter and happiness, one of fun times, and one with much less heartbreak than last year. Happy New Year, everyone.
