Why I Write

Why have I decided to continue in the world of blogging, with a completely different blog-style (one that's more personal-ish than informative-ish), you ask? It's simple: I love to write, and I love to have people read my writing.

I may not reach millions of people through my blog, but I like to think that, if I can help out at least one person, then I'm doing something right!

I write so that my voice can be heard, even if it's a voice rambling on about Doctor Who and how I've accidentally opened up a wormhole in my closet. There's so much to tell about my life, and I want to tell as many people as possible, even if they think that I'm absolutely insane. I may not be able to change the world, but I can change my world by writing, and that's what I'm going to do. I write to overcome the psychological abuse that I suffered at the hands of my ex.

I hope that you learn something from this blog, even if it's only how to avoid monthly resolutions. (Hey, that's something, right?) If you don't learn anything from this blog, I hope you find it a useful way to procrastinate.

I love writing. I love random stuff. And I love writing about random stuff. Everyone else and their mother has a blog, so why shouldn't I? (And besides, this will be a more personal blog than my ABGF one was... I always felt guilty talking about my personal life on that blog, because it was supposed to be about military life. This one isn't. This one is all about me.)

The title of my second blog (Not in Nottingham) had to do with the old Disney version of Robin Hood. You know, the one with the foxes? There's a line in the song the Rooster Minstrel sings that really hits me. "Sometimes ups outnumber the downs, but not in Nottingham." At that time, my life was one big "down." (They certainly outnumbered the ups at the time.)

Now, however, my life is back in full-swing, and I'm starting things over. I don't want to lose any of my old posts, so I've just changed the domain name instead of changing everything about the blog.

The title, That's My Division, is a twist on one of my favorite lines from BBC's Sherlock series, "Not My Division!" Everything that goes on in my life is my division, be it fangirling, playing DDR, or just sitting and watching movies with my boyfriend. This is my life, and welcome to it. Maybe you'll learn something by being here, or maybe you'll just find something entertaining to pass the time with. Either way, I hope you enjoy your visit to my division, and have a great day!
