About Me

I used to have a really long "about me" section here, but I thought it was getting stale and boring, after being used on two different blogs (and I didn't want to make it three). Let's see what I can whip up for you, shall we?

My name is Lauren, and I'm a former Military Brat. I was born in Alaska, and moved to Kentucky, Virginia, Kansas, Maryland, and Germany before finally landing in Alabama at the age of thirteen. I'm nineteen now, and I'm a sophomore at the University of Montevallo. I'm studying to be an English Major, with a Minor in Creative Writing.

I love writing, and I've written a lot of stories. Some will probably never see the light of day again, while others I'm actively trying to get a copyright on/get published, because I want the world to read these stories.

You can read some of my stories by clicking on the "Short Story" tag in the sidebar! I've posted just a few online for you to browse through, and I hope you like them!

Reading is another favorite pastime of mine, and my list of favorite books is very, very long. I'll just tell you that The Book Thief is my absolutely all-time favorite. (I have no verdict on the movie yet, as I haven't seen it. Trust me, I'll write a blog post when I do!)

Gaming is one of my favorite things to do as well. I love RPGs, and Pokémon and Final Fantasy (especially FFVI) fill my time very nicely. The Legend of Zelda is my favorite game series, though, because it was my first true "hard-core" series that I tried out, thanks to my cousin Matthew.

I hope I haven't bored you with my long description of myself, so tell me a bit about yourself! Have fun! :)

This is my sister and me. She's on the left, I'm on the right. This was a selfie we took together while Black Friday shopping.

We had a great time.

But if you're looking for something a little more serious, here's me dressed as a cowgirl. My Children's Church group did a series of lessons based in the Old West, and I got to be the Country Store Owner. You can find other pictures of me dressed like this elsewhere on my blog; you just have to look!

They'll probably be under the "church" tag in the sidebar!
